The MCA program being run at Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Information technology is designed by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University – the affiliating University. The norms and standards for the delivery of the course – as laid down by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, and Government of India – are followed at the Institute. The MCA program is divided into six semesters till 2019 and four semesters form 2020 onwards. Each semester comprises of five theory subjects and three practical subjects - except the last semester, when the students work on live project in the industry. In addition to this, every semester has a paper referred as Non University Examination Scheme (NUES) equal to the weightage of one paper, which allows the Institute to expose the students beyond the laid down syllabi and conduct research.
Teaching-Learning process at BCIIT is implemented by the dedicated faculty through rigorous planning and keeping in view the industry needs. Students undergo classroom lectures, tutorials, case studies, assignments, seminars, workshops, multimedia presentations, and lectures from guest speakers from the industry and academia. In every practical subject, besides writing individual programmes, students carry out projects in teams. In the fourth & fifth semesters students carryout integrated projects combining the multiple skill sets. In sixth semester students carryout live projects in industry. Students at BCIIT are exposed to research on the topics that are outside the syllabi; latest trends in technology are grasped, analysed and presented through seminars by the students. To develop the soft skills of the students, a personality development module is integrated with the syllabus.
